History

Peter Jessop founding member was inspired after a visit to the Gennfell Men's Shed to have a Men's Shed in his own community at Kincumber on the Central Coast NSW as there were no Mens Sheds in this region. Peter instigated and organised through the Uniting Church,  to allow unused  Church property to build a Mens Shed.

Peter and the volunteer group set about  inspiring  local community persons to get involved  and make the shed happen ASAP, demonstrating anything is possible.

A  DA was approved by Gosford council in late November 2006. A new shed was completed in  9  weeks and open for business in February 2007, with appreciation and support of local private donors. Kincumber Men's Shed was the first Men's Shed on the Central Coast and Hunter regions.

The successful  outcomes  from  KMS was a template and inspiration for  many other
communities to develop their own community Men's Sheds

All are welcome to visit KMS  and see the very beneficial outcomes to provide a safe place  and see the value of a Mens Sheds to the HEALTH and well being of their communities.
Kincumber men’s shed was  officially
opened by Richard Brownell 11th August 2008
